  • **Vantage Point Team from Sugar Hill places 31st at National Competition**  
Congratulations to the Vantage Point team for a job well done at the 2016 National Competition in Canada.  The team placed 31st overall, and their scores in the individual categories were:  Aquatics  18th, Forestry  18th, Soils 22nd, Wildlife 16th and Current Event 16th. Vantage Point worked very hard and represented our state well.

  • East Region Competition – March 8, 2017 – Flinchum’s Phoenix, UGA, Athens, GA
  • West Region Competition – March 9, 2017 – Newman Wetlands Center, Hampton, GA
  • State Competition – March 29-30 – Camp John Hope, Fort Valley, GA

**Registration fee increase** 
The registration fee will increase this year to $200 per team.

The Georgia Envirothon is an exciting natural resource education program designed to challenge students in an interactive, outdoor competition where middle and high school teams (consisting of 4-6 students) are tested in areas of Wildlife, Forestry, Aquatic Ecology, Soils and Land Use, and a Current Issue. Teams take written and hands on tests outside and give presentations based on the chosen Current Issue. Students have the opportunity to compete at the Regional, State and North American levels.
